Final Concept

My final concept was a hockey skate that utilized some of the iconic Chanel branding, such as the quilted details and the patent leather logo. Historically, quilt patterns dominated Chanel's bag designs and are generally regarded as timeless staples- so I wanted to incorporate that. Additionally, on the shoe a silver charm can be found in the laces, which is a detail that can often be found in sportswear and sneakers.
Fur lining across the top of the shoe provides the wearer with extra padding and comfort, and also adds a stylish touch to the design. According to runway & trend predictions from this period (Fall/Winter 2023), I forecasted that fur would come back into style in the years to come.
The altered logo was inspired by bag designs in the mid 2000s and emulates an active motion with the lines going in opposite ways. This was largely inspired by shapes one makes while ice skating, and the general structure of a figure 8.
