VERSACE MEDUSA HEELS
Concept Sketch
For my University of Minnesota sketching class, students were tasked with designing shoes. We could pick any brand, and any form of shoe- so long as we stuck with it throughout the process. I decided to pretend like I was working for Versace and selected to design a heel.
Brand History
Designing like I was working for Versace meant I did lots of research into their past shoe designs, and I looked at what kinds of designs had been dominating recent runways (F/W 24, and S/S 23).
Trend Forecasting
Versace proposes many new styles each season, which then other lower brands take inspiration from. Because of their reputation and innovative designs, I had to predict what was going to be popular in the future with their market in order to design something realistic for the brand.
