S/S 24: Capsule
During the summers, I like to focus on designing clothing that is wearable, comfortable, and stylish. Most of the articles are simply those that I had taken a particular interest in wearing- but I also used this as an opportunity to explore shapes that were currently trending/forecasted to trend for the season.
For S/S 24, I was inspired by the Barbie & hyperfeminine craze that started taking hold over fashion, with the beginnings of talk about the 2023 Barbie movie. I created a looser collection of very pink & purple garments that answered my question, "What would a very modern Barbie want to wear in today's world?". Garments were meant to be playful, yet still sexy, and were primarily inspired by 1950s dress shapes and the early 2000s.
