F/W 24: La Metamorphose

This project was developed for my sophomore product design studio course at the University of Minnesota. We were prompted to create a product that had transformative qualities, either for space-saving reasons or to dazzle an audience.

I chose to develop a series of garments, with the ultimate goal of making a semi-formal dress with transforming properties in the end as my final garment.

My prototypes for the garments developed themselves into a mini collection of sorts along the way, revolving around the theme of duality. Each one had their own unique characteristics that allowed them to transform into a second state. Eventually, some of these ideas were used in my final garment.
